How can a century-old masterpiece be preserved while evolving into an office building that meets the demands of the 21st century?

Honouring heritage while addressing contemporary challenges – this is the guiding principle behind our renovation of the former “Wood Bank”. Our aim is to ensure that the historic building at Nádor street 21, located in the heart of Budapest, retains the intricate Art Nouveau detailing and the unique industrial legacy that have defined it for more than a century.

The building’s story is not confined to its past. Our work seeks to uncover and safeguard its historic layers while integrating contemporary architectural interventions that remain true to its original spirit.

Throughout the project, we are committed to strengthening its heritage value and implementing modern architectural and engineering solutions that ensure its long-term functionality. The forest-inspired motifs that once shaped the Wood Bank’s identity – from oak leaves and acorns to finely carved wood panelling – continue to inspire our team even today.

This project is far more than a reconstruction; it is an ongoing dialogue between past and present. We are proud to contribute to this narrative as our designers thoughtfully and responsibly craft the next chapter in the life of Nádor street 21.
