At the European Space Agency’s (ESA) URBIS24 conference, our firm's parametric architectural designer, Dr. Réka Sárközi PhD gave a presentation showcasing the joint project between ESA and Paulinyi & Partners to the professional audience.
Increasingly frequent heatwaves are making the summer season nearly unbearable for city dwellers. As a contracted partner of the European Space Agency, we are working on a service, utilizing satellite-based Earth observation data and involving both domestic and international municipalities, that will help us create cooler, more liveable urban areas in the near future. With our simulation tool, HeatScape Resolve, we will be able to propose solutions to reduce the urban heat island effect, even on the scale of neighbourhoods, as early as during the initial stages of project planning. Innovative projects such as this one could introduce a new era in urban planning.
The presentation delivered by our colleague was received with great interest by the participants of the conference, and the professional feedback has reinforced our belief in the importance of our service as a potential solution to a pressing issue. Thanks to ESA for inviting us to participate in the event!
