During the renovation of the listed office building at Nádor Street 21, we were determined enough to resolve a long-standing absence: the creation of a truly central community space. The building originally lacked a representative reception or communal area, which is an essential component of contemporary office environments.
In reimagining the inner courtyard, improving natural daylight became a key design guideline. Alongside this, we removed elements that constrained spatial use, introduced new openings, and created larger glazed surfaces to enhance openness and connectivity.
The result is a bright, contemporary space. Today, the covered inner courtyard serves as the ground floor’s focal point – a flexible communal area that both honours the building’s heritage and meets the expectations of modern office architecture.
