On the evening of April 14, Paulinyi & Partners opened its doors to professionals curious about the digital future of the construction industry – and what followed was anything but a typical industry event.
The Digital Architecture Meetup was never meant to be just another series of presentations. When we set out to organise it, our goal was to offer a genuine look under the hood: into the inner workings of a firm where data sits at the drawing table right alongside the pencil. Architects, engineers, and digital innovation professionals gathered to hear first-hand what data-driven design actually looks like in practice – from international R&D projects and ESA collaboration to the everyday use of AI and the real economic impact of digital development.
At the heart of the evening was an open, candid roundtable discussion. Miklós Balaskó, Roland Németh, and Béla Szivák – the key figures behind the group's digital development – set aside conventional presentations and spoke openly about how AI-based tools and BIM workflows are woven into daily design practice, where the real advantages lie, and where the pitfalls are. The conversation also touched on lessons learned through international R&D partnerships, and how Paulinyi & Partners brings those insights home.
One thread ran through every topic: digital solutions are not the enemy of creativity. Quite the opposite – they set it free.
And why do we need more events like this? The digital transformation of the construction industry is not a distant prospect – it is happening here and now. The Meetup demonstrated that technology, when applied thoughtfully, does more than make design faster and more cost-efficient. It opens new space for collaboration and innovation, and helps build a professional community that doesn't just absorb change, but actively drives it.
That is exactly what we strive for at Paulinyi & Partners – in every single project.
